happiness & perception amongst other things

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to write a post about how I've sort of been dealing with a rough situation in my life. My mom inspired me to write this as she wanted to know more with how I deal with certain things.

I've most recently gone through some emotional hardship and it's been rough. The details I'll leave out, but I wanted to share with you how I've come across wonderful inspirations to get me through everything.

I've been listening a lot to a woman named Esther Hicks and she has taught me a lot about perception. There's been so many times where I'm angry or hurt, and all I can see is what is hurting me. This is only destructive to you.

When we are upset, happy, angry, excited, whatever, we should use these emotions to our advantage. We shouldn't ignore them, but we shouldn't dwell on them either. Emotions tell us how well we are in alignment with ourselves. When we are happy, we are in perfect harmony, and when we are uneasy or sad, it tells us something isn't right. It's a very simply notion and we know this from when we are children but it's hard to remember sometimes.

That's when perception comes in. Not everything is going to be peachy. This is when you have to look at something through kind and easy eyes. Holding on to resentment and hate will only take you out of yourself. This is because our true selves only want to love and have love. This sounds cheesy AF, I'm aware, but it's true.

Think about this next time you're going through something tough. You're most happy when you're loving something, enjoying someone's company, eating good food, dancing, doing whatever it is YOU like to do. Stop worrying about why or what or who or when. It's all happening. And when you start focusing on things with love and understanding, everything seems to make sense and fall into place perfectly.

For me personally, I've met some amazing people recently, and have also gotten much closer to friends I would have never gotten a chance to know so closely unless I had gone through this struggle (ladies, you know who you are).

This little personal insight I had for myself is very brief and very general (and very cheesy, again, I know). If you want to talk more about little things I've been picking up along the way, let me know. I've been trying to live my life this way. Habit will get in the way of course, but that's not a problem, things take time.

I'd love to hear a little bit about how you deal with conflict and tension in your life. Is it destructive or constructive? Hope to hear from you guys.
